Optimum Nutrition: Amino Energy Review

Amino Energy is essential amino acids which deliver caffeine to help you increase your overall performance throughout the day and before and during your workouts.

Optimum Nutrition’s Amino Energy increases your overall energy and focuses allowing you to concentrate better, focus more, have a better metabolism as well as aid your overall fatigue.

Taste and Texture

Optimum Nutrition’s Amino Energy has a flavour like a soft drink, just will the added health benefits and the reduce in nasty preservatives. Full of fizz and mixes easily with icy water and has a wide variety of different flavours you can purchase to add to your daily intake.

Just imagine a drink which tastes like soda but has a load of health benefits and helps give you energy and reduce fatigue. Yep – you found it!

Our favourite is the Fruit Punch!

Effectiveness

Optimum Nutrition’s Amino Energy is packed with natural energy such as green tea and micronized amino acids as well as a high caffeine dose.

With the product being low in sugar, the energy which it releases is slow burning and will not deliver a shock to your system shortly after drinking.

Depending on why you want to take Amino Energy will depend on how many scoops you need. From an afternoon boost to using as a pre-workout. Although it is effective, to use as a pre-workout will need more than just the one scoop.

Ease of Use

Optimum Nutrition’s Amino Energy is overly simple to blend. Made with cold water in a shaker and rarely, if ever, will you get ‘bits’ left in the bottom when drinking.

The only downside is that you might need to regularly shake your drink to keep the drink constantly blended.

Price

As with most Optimum Nutrition products, the price is acceptable for what you’re getting. The Amino Energy retails for around £15.99, although often can be found cheaper when shopping around, such as on Amazon here. That said, there are better options out there from Optimum Nutrition for similar prices, such as BCAA’s but if the contents of the Amino Energy is what you’re after then it is certainly worth the money.

Overall Thoughts

Overall, you can’t go wrong with adding Amino Energy to your daily nutrition intake, it’s short on calories and low in sugar and fat, with plenty of benefits. What you’re gaining from taking amino energy in a day over a prolonged period of time will improve your overall health and help to reduce your fatigue. It’s a much better option than drinking caffeine and trying to get energy and vitamins from other food sources. It’s a definite purchase!
