In 1965, Joe Weider created a contest that took bodybuilding to a whole new level. Today, the Mr Olympia competition is the elite of bodybuilding competitions. It is an annually held competition by the International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness (IFBB).
The Mr Olympia competition is a competition which finds the best bodybuilder on the planet!
The Mr Olympia competition runs annually and you can only enter as an athlete by invitation only.
How to Qualify
For reasons that I hope are obvious, you have to qualify for the Mr Olympia competition if want to compete in it.
You must be an IFBB Professional in one of the following categories:
- Top five from the previous year’s Mr Olympia
- Top 3 in each division of the Arnold Classic or International
- Top two in each division at the New York Pro
- 1st place at all other competitions.
- The winner of the Masters Professional World Championships.
How do they do it?
Apart from training like crazy and having a world-class diet, there’s not much to it.
In all seriousness, like most professional athletes, preparing for bodybuilding competitions takes a great deal of determination, work-ethic, drive and commitment.
